How We Ensure Comfort During Your Corset Fitting (Even When Your Tailor's a Man)

Corset Fittings with Care: Ensuring Comfort, Always
When it comes to custom corsetry, the fitting process is a deeply personal experience. Your body, your comfort, and your confidence are at the heart of every stitch we sew.
We know that for some clients, especially those who may not be used to close-fitting garments or tailored clothing, the idea of a corset fitting can feel a little vulnerable. And when your corset maker happens to be a middle-aged man (hi, that’s me!), it’s only natural to have questions about how the process works—and how we make sure you feel totally at ease.
So let’s talk about it. Here’s how we approach fittings with professionalism, respect, and your comfort front and center.
🤝 A Culture of Consent and Communication
Before a single measuring tape is lifted, we start with a conversation.
You’ll always know exactly what to expect during the fitting. We’ll talk through each step, ask for your preferences and boundaries, and adjust the process to match your comfort level. Nothing is ever rushed. You are in control, and we are guests in your space—whether it’s in-person or virtual.
We also will offer you the option of having a woman take the measurements. If you are under 18 we will require it.
👗 Modesty Options That Work for You
Every client is different, and so is every fitting. That’s why we offer:
-
Optional chaperones or companions: You’re welcome (and encouraged!) to bring a friend, partner, or relative along to your fitting, for those under 18 it is something we require.
-
Layer-friendly measuring: Many measurements can be taken over a close-fitting base layer (like a T-shirt or tank top).
-
We will ask every time we are in a personal area: When measuring or fitting a garment we will ask your permission every time that a tailor's hands will be in or near an area that a normal bikini would cover (breasts, Hips, But etc)
-
Privacy-first policies: If you prefer to take your own bust measurements or handle certain areas yourself, we’ll guide you through it step-by-step.
🧵 Professionalism is Non-Negotiable
Corsetry is intimate work—but it is never invasive. As a tailor, I bring years of experience and absolute respect to every client relationship. My focus is on achieving the perfect fit, never crossing personal or emotional boundaries.
Creating a custom garment is a partnership. You bring your body, your story, and your goals. I bring my skill, structure, and support.
💬 You Can Always Say “No” (And You’ll Be Heard)
If something feels uncomfortable at any point—whether it’s physical, emotional, or just a vibe—you have full permission to speak up. We’ll pause, pivot, and find a better way together. Your comfort is never optional—it’s essential.
🌟 You Deserve to Feel Seen, Safe, and Stunning
At the end of the day, a corset fitting isn’t just about measurements. It’s about creating something that makes you feel strong, supported, and beautiful in your own skin.
Yes, I’m a middle-aged man with a tape measure. But I’m also someone who believes that everyone deserves a space where their body is treated with dignity, care, and zero judgment.
So if you’ve ever hesitated to get a corset made because you weren’t sure what the fitting experience would be like—please know you are welcome here, exactly as you are.
Questions? Concerns? Let’s talk.
If you’re curious about getting a custom corset made but unsure about the fitting process, I’d love to walk you through it. No pressure—just a conversation.
